Marilyn Mae Johnson
March 17, 1947 until June 9, 2026

Marilyn Mae Johnson, 79, of Goodman, Missouri, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her husband, Larry, and her daughters, Jana and Jennifer.
Though short in stature, Marilyn’s personality filled every room she entered. She brought joy, laughter, and energy wherever she went, and there was never a dull moment when she was around. Marilyn had a fun-loving spirit, a vibrant personality, and a special way of making every gathering brighter simply by being there.
More than anything, Marilyn loved her family. They were the center of her world and the greatest joy of her life. She was also a passionate sports fan and could often be found cheering on her beloved KU Jayhawks basketball team and all things Arkansas Razorbacks. She especially loved following her grandchildren’s sports activities and took great pride in cheering them on every step of the way. Whether celebrating a win, sharing a laugh, or spending time with those she loved, Marilyn lived life with enthusiasm and heart.
Marilyn worked in the medical office field for many years, where her caring nature and friendly personality served others well. She retired from Rogers Family Practice, leaving behind many friendships and memories from a career devoted to helping people.
She was born March 17, 1947, in Harper, Kansas, to Vera and Charlie “Bub” Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vera and Charlie “Bub” Stevens, and her sister, Janet Perez.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Johnson, of the home; two daughters, Jana Johnson Floyd and her husband, Jerry Floyd, of Centerton, Arkansas, and Jennifer Johnson Burtis and her husband, Michael Burtis, of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two sisters, Margie Mayo and Lea Ann Smithhisler; one brother, Dean Stevens; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two great-grandchildren on the way; and many other loving family members and dear friends.
A memorial service celebrating Marilyn’s life will be held at a later date.
Marilyn will be remembered for her strong faith, her love for her family, her lively spirit, and the joy she brought to so many. Her presence was truly unforgettable, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
