Mary Lou King
January 29, 1946 until April 2, 2026

Mary Lou King, age 80, of Rogers, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at her home. She was born January 29, 1946, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, to Janet Holman and Thomas McCarter. In 1961, her family moved from Minnesota to Siloam Springs, where she would go on to build a life centered on faith, family, and friendship.
Mary’s faith was the foundation of her life. She loved Jesus as her Lord and Savior and was a devoted prayer warrior for her family and friends. She found great joy in spending time with others, especially her friends at Morada, where she enjoyed playing poker, bingo, and other games.
She dedicated much of her adult life to working alongside Dr. Gary Moffitt in his medical practice. Mary will be remembered for her generous heart, kind spirit, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met.
Above all, Mary cherished her family. She especially loved time with her grandchildren, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and live life to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James King, in 2014.
Mary is survived by her three sons: James Richard King and his wife Amey of Talbott, Tennessee; Andy King and his wife Robynn of Rogers, Arkansas; and John David King of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She is also survived by her brother, Richard McCarter of Paradise, Louisiana; her sister, Pat Lawrence of Rogers, Arkansas; four grandchildren—Chanlar King, Drew King and his wife Tracy, Callie Bennett and her husband Luke, and Shelby Jones and her husband Dylan—as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held Thursday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Rogers, Pleasant Grove Campus.
