Bob Nelson

Robert (Bob) Alan Nelson, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at his home in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on Friday, June 21st, 1957 in Omaha, Nebraska to Lew and Barbara Nelson (Luth).

Bob grew up in Omaha and graduated from the High School there. He went on to work for Wal-Mart, which took him around the world for many years, before finally settling in Northwest Arkansas for the last 32 years. He very much enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, sports, and everything about his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his wife; Leanna McVey, and some very good friends.

Bob is survived by his parents; Lew and Barbara, his son; Austin Nelson (Krystal) of Gravette, Arkansas, three stepchildren; Courtney Hastie of Fort Worth, Texas, Shamber Mcvey and Shaley Mcvey, both of Northwest Arkansas, one brother; Brian Nelson of Princeton, Texas, one sister; Beth Meier of Elkhorn, Nebraska, six grandchildren with one on the way, and many more friends.

A visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Rogers, Pleasant Grove location (changed due to recent weather), on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hiwasse on Wednesday, May 29th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. welcome to all who consider themselves family or close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to any organization supporting families with food insecurities.
