Bobby Ray Manning

Bobby Ray Manning, age 91, passed away on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on January 20th, 1933 in Hereford, Texas to Roy G. and Earline Manning (Daniel).

Bobby grew up in Hereford, graduating from Hereford High School in 1951, then went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force four years until July 13th, 1956. He served in the 417th Bomber Squadron, Ghost Riders, under the command of Chuck Yeager.

Upon returning home, he married his High School sweetheart, Wanda Zumwalt, on September 15th, 1956. He worked as an auto body and paint repairman all his life. He was an artist in woodworking and stained glass. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the ones who called him Grandy. He was a member at Park Street Baptist Church where he served as an ordained Deacon for many years. He loved old cars, and gardening. He worked in his mother’s florist shop when he was younger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Roy and Earline; an infant brother; Russell LeRoy, and infant sister; Joyce Elaine, brothers; Glenn, Roy, and Jim, and a grandson: B.J. Cash.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 67 years; Wanda Manning, a brother; Harold Manning and his wife Ellen of Hereford, Texas, two daughters: Mahota Matthews and husband Chuck of Georgia, and Anna Cash and husband Bennie of Centerton, Arkansas, five grandchildren; Terrell Manweiler and her husband Lance of Centerton, Louise Hurtado and her husband Timothy of Dallas, Texas, Frances Lane and her husband Zac of Rogers, Tyler Cash and his wife Devon of Bella Vista, and Matt Hays and his wife Melissa, and 12 great-grandchildren; Landon, Peyton, Isla, Isaac, Anya, McKinsley, Grayson, Shayne, Jamison, Adaline, Cora, and Evan.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 25th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Park Street Baptist Church in Bentonville, Rev. Ronald Roughton officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in a private service for the family that afternoon.
