Carol Sue Barr

Carol Sue Barr, 85, of Rogers, AR, passed away Sept. 1, 2024, at her home after a long battle with pulmonary disease.

Carol was born to Eva Ada Wallace and Clarence Thorton Young on March 6, 1939 in Keokuk, Iowa. She graduated from Keokuk High School in 1957 and wed the love of her life, Harold Leon Barr, on May 1, 1959. They enjoyed 50 years of marriage until his passing on July 13, 2009. She enjoyed gardening, crafting and playing bridge. She loved sweets and black coffee. She was a strong believer in Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Corky and Debbie, husband Harold and great granddaughter Taydem.

She is survived by her son Kevin Barr and wife Mary of Rogers, daughter Michele Johnson of Rogers, son John Barr of Elm Springs, sister Marilyn Stringfellow and husband Jerry of Lafayette, IN, brother Jim Young and wife Jean of Cedar Rapids, IA, 12 grandchildren: Elizabeth Bachmann Manning of East Independence, MO, Jay Long and wife Tanna of Rogers, Jeremy Barr of Rogers, Cindy Long of Bald Knob, Amy Johnson of Centerton, Stephanie Twist and husband Layne of Bella Vista, Megan Haller and husband Michael of Booneville, Kelly Epling and husband Chris of Bella Vista, Britney Robinson and husband Ethan of Prairie Grove, Cooper Barr and wife Lindsey of Siloam Springs, Niki Barr of Bella Vista, Kelsi Barr of Bentonville, and 24 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville, AR, on Thursday, Sept 5, 2024, from 5pm to 7pm. Her funeral service will be held at Central United Methodist Church in Rogers, AR, on Friday, Sept 6, 2024, from 2-2:30pm, followed by refreshments at the Clubhouse at The Arbors at Pinnacle Ridge in Rogers until 5:30pm.
