Charles “Chuck” Michael Schmidt

Charles “Chuck” Michael Schmidt, 67, of Bella Vista died Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born on November 21, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Patricia and Charles Schmidt.

Chuck knew from a young boy, growing his own garden on land the neighbors lent him, he always had a love for nature, plants and nurturing them. With his strong belief in the value of hardwork, he set his goals to one day open his own horticulture business. He spent the next series of years through his youth into adulthood attending college in Chicago for Horticulture and working hard in various fascinating trades, from garden centers to working a ranch, and many things inbetween. After moving to Missouri, then Arkansas he had everything in order to open his own landscape business soon followed by his garden center, Sunshine Landscape and Garden Center on Benton Co 40. After several years in this business, he was called to Eureka Springs. There he worked with Parks and Rec spearheading community impacting advancements. While being strongly involved in helping the community and it's projects. He then continue to pursue his love for creating and working with his hands while restoring beautiful historical buildings and structures in the area and building much more.
In addition to all his various hardworking ventures, he enjoyed being on the swim team throughout school and had several interests and passions such as, golf, being on the water, reading, mother nature, current events, historical facts, his family and friends, animals (especially his great danes) and classics of anything; especially music and cars. His insatiable love of learning gave him the gift of knowledge in so many things and his conversations of various interesting facts and subjects will never be forgetten.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Denise Schmidt; granddaughter, Eliora Igwebuike and grandson, TJ Igwebuike.

Chuck is survived by son, Chas Schmidt of Bella Vista; daughter, Jessi Schmidt and her husband, Thomas Igwebuike of Bella Vista; brother, Scott Schmidt; sister, Dina Meek; Ruth Wills; 3 grandchildren and many friends and family.
