Charles “Jim” James Platanitis Jr.

Charles “Jim” James Platanitis Jr., 81, of Rogers, Arkansas died at his residence on December 29, 2024. He was born on February 14, 1943 in Paris, Texas the son of Mary and Charles Platanitis Sr.

Jim was a member of the US Army Reserve. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and spending time on Cape Cod. He was a member of the Coast Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother Edythe Robinson, brother Joseph Platanitis, and son Thomas Appleby II.

Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years Deborah Platanitis of Rogers, Arkansas; three sons, Chris Platanitis of Arizona, James Platanitis and his wife Tara of Arizona, Harley Platanitis of Rogers, Arkansas; two daughters, Sharon Wecker and her husband Gerry of Reeds, Missouri, Michelle Platanitis-Wingard and her husband Stephen of Rogers, Arkansas; brother Nick Platanitis and his husband Tim McKee of Tampa Bay, Florida; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many loving friends.

Burial will take place in West Harwich, Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring in Rogers, Arkansas.
