Courtney Nicole Childress

Courtney Nicole Childress, 38, passed away on February 11, 2024 at Northwest Hospital in Bentonville. She was born at St Mary’s hospital in Rogers on January 19, 1986 to her mother, Tammy, and her father, Ed.

Courtney was very caring and giving and spent most of her adulthood in Home Health Care, specifically caring for the Elderly. Courtney wouldn’t hesitate to give of herself to others, whether it was a place to stay or food out of her own pantry. Courtney loved to spend time camping, hiking, and being outside with her two sons, Tyler and Brayden. There was never a time that Courtney didn’t own several pets, including one of her favorites, Smokey. Courtney became instants friends with almost everyone she met. Her legacy will be carried on by both of her boys.

Courtney was known for having fun. She never passed up an opportunity to lay back and laugh. Her fun-loving nature was apparent on many family trips, including many weekends spent at Silver Dollar City. She enjoyed being out at the lake and never turned down a good road trip.

Courtney had many friends at Rogers High School and went on to graduate from Bryan College with her Associate’s Degree in CNA.

Courtney is proceeded in death by her son Dawson Barnum, her father Ed Childress, her Grandfathers Gerald Grisham and Ray Childress, her step-brother Robbie Abshier, and her Grandmother Ruth King.

Courtney is survived by her sons Tyler Curci and Brayden Barnum, her parents Tammy and Steve Abshier, her stepmother Stacey Childress, her grandparents Betty and Jim Brewer, her brother Jason Childress, her sister Haley Wright and husband Chance Kipness, her step siblings Audrey Jacobs and husband Loghan, Jessica MacFadden and husband Aaron, and Jeramy Dunson, and her uncle Greg Grisham. She is survived by three nieces, Candalyn Wright, Ariah and Adalyn Childress, and two nephews, Aaron Wright and Oakley Kipness. She is also survived by a slew of step nieces and nephews who also loved her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Courtney’s honor at Newsong Church in Centerton on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bella Vista Animal Shelter or any rehabilitation facility that assists those with addiction.
