Donald Dean Gann
May 17th, 1938 until May 16th, 2024
Donald Dean Gann, also known as “Don, Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Friend” of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on May 16th, 2024. He was 85 years old, just a few hours shy of his 86th birthday- but to his family he made it to 86. He passed away at a circle of life center in Bentonville, Arkansas surrounded by his close family. Donald and his wife, Sharon, moved from Enid, Oklahoma to Northwest Arkansas in 1989- where they started Don’s mobile homes.
Don was born May 17, 1938, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Howard Enoch Gann and Juanita E. Bilbry Gann. After graduating from New Lima High School, he went to East Central State College when he decided to leave school and entered the United States Army. Don proudly served in the United States Army and underwent specialized electronic guided missile repair training at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
After leaving the Army he moved to Garber, Oklahoma where he met the love of his life, Sharon Honegger. They got married June 22nd, 1963 and were blessed with two daughters; Terri and Christy.
Some of his favorite hobbies that he enjoyed included: wood carving, gardening, fishing, driving and restoring his 1935 Ford pickup named “Nelly” and spending time with his family and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Juanita, a brother, Darrell Gann, and a sister, Phyllis Gann.
Don’s legacy is carried on by his wife of 60 years, Sharon “Honegger” Gann of Rogers, Arkansas. Two daughters: Christy Gann of Lowell, Arkansas and Terri Durheim and her husband Cecil of Enid, Oklahoma. Two grandsons; Zachary Durheim of Enid, Oklahoma and Hayden Durheim and wife Logan of Enid Oklahoma. Two brothers; Ron Gann and his wife Joyce of Enid, Oklahoma; Roger Gann and his wife Rhoda of Casper, Wyoming; his sister Diana Mack and her husband Sammy of Lucine, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Don will be held Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 2:00pm at Grace Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2451 W Wedington Dr, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
