Elfredia May Shook

Elfredia “Fredia” May Shook, age 77, of Rogers died Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at her residence. She was born August 27, 1946 in Maysville, Oklahoma the daughter of Lora Ann Waldon and William Herrington.

She married Gary Shook after meeting him on a blind date. Gary had recently served in the US Air Force. They were married June 17, 1966 in Benton County.

Fredia enjoyed farming, horses, and raising cattle. She loved cooking and spending quality time with her family, especially raising her children. She loved everything to do with the outdoors.

She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church of Cave Springs for many years. In recent years she was an active member of Cross Church of Rogers. She was preceded in death by: her parents, and her husband Gary Shook in 2006.

Fredia is survived by: two sons; Michael Shook and his wife Svetlana, of Mexico, Lance Shook, of Rogers, one sister; Velma Hendrickson, of Hiwasse, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10-11am at the Chapel on the Creeks located in Rogers. The celebration of Fredia’s life will begin at 11am with Pastor Johnny Harp officiating. Interment will follow at Phillips Cemetery located in Cave Springs.
