Gordon Lewis Baril

Gordon Lewis Baril, 64, of Bentonville passed away September 1. He was born September 11, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to Charles Oliver Baril and Anna Marie Kolar Baril Johnston.
Gordon moved to the Northwest Arkansas area in 1981 from Michigan, and to Bentonville in 1991. He was a well-respected auto body painter whose cars won several car shows. He loved cars of all kinds from Matchbox to NASCAR, and also enjoyed collecting knives. Gordon was also known for his innovative cooking. The thing he loved the most, though, was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents as well as his step-parents, Lee Baril and Ray Johnston.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Greathouse Baril, whom he married on January 6, 1985; three children: LeSue Marie Tindell (Robert) of Exeter, MO, Dominic Lewis Baril of Bentonville, and Rosemary Grace Boston (EJ) of Cassville, MO; one brother, Robert Baril (Loraine) of Utica, MI; three sisters: Roxanne Birchfield of Bella Vista, Susan Bobb of Warren, MI, and Sandy Woodard of Rogers; grandchildren: Anna, Bradley, Caleb, Darla, and Eve; step-siblings: Cindy LaCasse, Michelle Patterson, Sandy Burgess, and Steven Johnston; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10:00am at New Life Apostolic Church in Rogers.
