Ishmal Wayne Simpson

Ishmal Wayne Simpson, age 88, of Bentonville died Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Circle of Life Hospice House located in Bentonville. He was born February 1, 1935 in DeWitt, Arkansas the son of Floyd Milton Simpson and Nellie Mae Cordell.

He served in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years with the Air Force Police. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bentonville for many years.

Ishmal enjoyed golfing, fishing, Razorback Sports, and spending quality time with his family especially with his Grandson. He spent many years serving in Law Enforcement, and retired after 8 years of service as the Arkansas County Sheriff. He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2005 from DeWitt.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Ishmal is survived by: his wife; Ronnie Simpson, whom he married April 29, 1981, one son; Doug MacRae and his wife Shirley, of Rogers, one grandson; Coleman MacRae, of Conway, and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ismal’s life will be announced at a later date by the family. Inurnment will be in Kentucky, at a later date.
