Jane Marsha Burner

Jane Marsha Burner, 72, passed away on July 15, surrounded by family. Jane was born on May 24, 1952, to Dr. Charles and Louise Wormley in Davenport, Iowa.
Jane attended the University of Iowa, where she received a B.S. in Elementary Education, followed by the University of Northern Colorado, where she earned an M.A. in Science Education. During her 32-year teaching career in Colorado, Texas, and Arizona, she helped create and implement programs with organizations including the Louisiana State University Observatory, Louisiana Young Bankers Association, University of Mississippi’s Institute of Marine Sciences, and NASA Challenger Center Missions with the Pima Air & Space Museum. Jane also taught gifted students and led students in Odyssey of the Mind. After 32 years in the classroom, Jane tutored students and supervised student teachers for Regis University as well as the Archdiocese of Colorado. She was a highly accomplished teacher and an active member of ADK and PEO.
In her youth, Jane was a member of the Central High synchronized swim team, an avid skier, and a debutante. Jane loved hiking and being outdoors. After retiring, she relocated to Northwest Arkansas to focus on family and be with both of her daughters and grandchildren.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents and her brother. She is survived by her significant other, Kerry; her daughters, Elizabeth and Sarah; their husbands, Adam and Brandon; her sister, Marianne; and grandchildren, Carter, Sarah, Emily, and Parker.
