Martha Stanfield Chestnut

Martha Stanfield Chestnut of Rogers, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025. She was born on Sunday, April 30th, 1939, in Lufkin, Texas, to Efton “Stan” and Alyne Stanfield (Spears).

Martha grew up in Lufkin and graduated from Lufkin High School. She went to modeling school in Houston before becoming a Flight Attendant for Central Airlines,which would later become Continental Airlines. Martha married Jerry Chestnut in 1961, in Ft. Worth, Texas, before moving to Hurst, Texas, to raise their family. Martha moved to Northwest Arkansas in 2020 to be closer to her family. She loved traveling, being Grammy to her 3 grandchildren, and spending countless hours on the phone with her sisters, with whom, though being miles apart, were as thick as thieves.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jerry Chestnut; one daughter, Lisa Chestnut-Holly; and her parents, Efton and Alyne.

Martha is survived by her son, Craig Chestnut (Lou Ann) of Rogers, Arkansas; two sisters, Mary Meers (David) of Sand Point, Idaho and Ruth Ziatz (Dan) of Morgantown, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Ryan Holly, Aaron Chestnut, and Rachel Chestnut; and nieces and nephews, Maria Hummel, David Meers, Natalie Teba, and Stephen Ziatz.

Services will be on Monday, December 8th, at Hunt Chapel in Rogers; Visitation at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Bob Ford officiating.
