Mary Kay Sutton

Mary Kay Sutton, age 86, passed away on Monday, August 3rd, 2026, at her home in Bella Vista, Arkansas. She was born on November 22nd, 1939, in Fremont Nebraska to Fredrick and Pauline (Hannan) Heuerman.

Mary Kay grew up in Arlington Nebraska, graduating from Arlington High School. She attended Wayne State Teachers College and finished college, graduating from Midland University in Fremont with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught for many years at St. Patrick’s Elementary in Fremont. After moving to Arkansas in 1985, Mary Kay became a real estate broker and later opened a party goods store in Rogers, AR which she operated for many years. Mary Kay was very active in prolife activities, helping to found the local Catholic Prolife Council. She was also active in the church being a founding member of St. Stephens in Bentonville where she helped to start the Legion of Mary chapter. Mary Kay was a 3rd generation China Painter, a loving mother and grandmother and cherished friend to many.

She married Rolland Sutton on April 19th, 1968, and was married for over 55 years. Rolland preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by parents Fred and Pauline, her sister Darleen Ladehoff, and brother Richard Heuerman.

Mary Kay is survived by her three children: James Sutton, Julia Helm (Ryan), and Jacqueline Brogren (Paul), brothers: Fred Heuerman (Judy), and Don Heuerman (Carolyn), 7 grandchildren: Elijah and Ethan Helm, Jackson and Jefferson Martin, Jonathan, Jocelyn and Jacob Brogren, step-daughter Toni Manley and step-grandchildren Morgan and Trevor Manley, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The Mass of Resurrection will be Friday, August 7th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Bentonville. There will be a visitation at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Rolland, at the Fayetteville National Cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be sent to the St. Stephen Building Fund in her honor.
