Michael James Powers Jr.

Major Michael James Powers Jr., Retired US Air Force, age 90, of Bella Vista, Arkansas died Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at a local skilled care center. He was born December 24, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the son of Elizabeth Marie Ternan and Michael James Powers Sr.

Michael served in the US Air Force for 20 years, that included serving in the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

He was a very active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church located in Bella Vista. He enjoyed traveling, and spending quality time with his family.

He was preceded in death by: his parents, all his siblings, two sons; Michael James Powers III, Daniel Thomas Gerald Powers, and one grandson; Michael James Young.

Michael is survived by: his wife; Mary Powers, of Bella Vista whom he married October 10, 1986, two sons; Christopher Edward Powers., and his wife Laurie, of Edmond, Oklahoma, Timothy F. Powers, and his wife Jennifer, of Phoenix, Arizona, his daughter-in-law; Deb Young, of Lakewood, Washington, 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, his niece Pamela Powers McLennon and many other extended loving relatives.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be announced at a later date by the family.
