Ryan Coop

Ryan Coop, beloved husband, father, stepfather, granddad, father-in-law, brother, and friend, passed away on May 4th, 2025, at the age of 61 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Ryan was born in England to Maurice and Doreen Coop and grew up in Ossett, West Yorkshire. In 1994, he moved to California, where he built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and love for those around him. He proudly became a U.S. citizen in 2006 and loved the life he built here. In 2020, he relocated to Northwest Arkansas, where he continued to share his warmth and kindness with everyone he met.

A skilled cabinet maker by trade, Ryan took great pride in his craftsmanship and was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local 2236 for 32 years, retiring in 2022. Above all, he treasured his role as a devoted husband and grandfather, treating his family with unwavering love and support. He had a deep love of history and could spend hours happily discussing historical events. A devoted Doctor Who fan, he enjoyed watching and rewatching episodes from across the decades.

Ryan’s faith was central to his life—he was a devoted Christian who found strength and purpose through his relationship with God. Ryan also had a genuine gift for connecting with people. He was endlessly curious about others and genuinely loved getting to know people, whether they were old friends or someone he had just met. He especially enjoyed deep, thoughtful conversations—often leaning into topics of philosophy, faith, and life’s big questions. He had a quick wit, a kind smile, and a way of making people feel truly welcomed. With a love for discussion and a deep interest in the world around him, he could often be found talking with others, listening to their stories, and sharing his own.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Sandy Coop; his stepchildren Kristen Stubblefield (husband Grant), Scott Gablenz, and Allison Gablenz Iwata (husband Taka); his children Marina Coop and Jenna Harris (husband Kelly); his sisters Lynn Edmonson and Karen Coop; his nieces; and his cherished grandchildren, Annabelle and Kaylee.

A celebration of Ryan’s life will be held on May 25th at 4:00 PM at Cross Pointe Community Church at 1174 W. Henri De Tonti Blvd, Tontitown, Arkansas. In honor of Ryan’s generous spirit and love of community, the family invites all who knew him to attend and share in remembering a life well lived.

The late Pastor Larry was passionate about paying off his church renovations, and Ryan would have been more than honored to help reach that goal.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever in our hearts.
