Andrew Bryan Bissett

Andrew “Andy” Bryan Bissett of Rogers, AR passed away on August 24, 2023 at the Circle of Life Hospice Care Center after a very short battle with lung cancer. He was 70 years old, and was born on October 10, 1952 in Russell, Kansas. Andy is preceded in death by both parents, Clarence and Margaret Bissett. Andy leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Janice Bissett, and two daughters Nelda Cooper and Hallie Bell; his three grandchildren Meriah Casey, Hayden Cooper and KC Bell; his two great granddaughters Hollynn and Oaklee Casey and his three sisters Rhonda Eichman, Amber Ingram and Cynthia Harris.

Andy graduated high school in 1971. After moving his family to Rogers, AR in 1989 he continued his career as a mechanic and became ASE certified in 2004. He was very hardworking and loved staying busy. He spent his free time as a fisherman and guide on Beaver Lake and Lake Quachita. He was a taxidermist and a fantastic artist. He enjoyed woodworking, specifically building cases for his large Native American artifact collection. He enjoyed adding new pieces to this collection, as well as visiting multiple Artifact Shows throughout Arkansas to display his collection, crafts, and handmade cases. Andy had a love for music, especially records in his younger days, and enjoyed classic rock. Andy was a soft-spoken man of few words, who valued his privacy, but he was always sure to leave a hand written note before leaving the house.

We remember Andy in the waves of the lakes, the fish that he caught and would have loved to catch, with each classic rock vinyl or song played, and with a bowl of rocky road or chocolate ice cream. Always remember Andy in your own ways and pursue the things you enjoy, just as he did.

Feel no guilt in laughter, he’d know how much you care.
Feel no sorrow in a smile that he is not here to share.
You cannot grieve forever; he would not want you to.
He’d hope that you could carry on the way you always do.
So, talk about the good times and the way you showed you cared,
The days you spent together, all the happiness you shared.
Let memories surround you, a word someone may say
Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day,
That brings him back as clearly as though he were still here,
And fills you with the feeling that he is always near.
For if you keep those moments, you will never be apart
And he will live forever locked safely within your heart.
