Bill Roush

Bill Roush, 90, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, passed away, at his home surrounded by family, on Monday, June 22, 2026. He was born July 6th, 1935, to Wray and Bessie (DeVries) Roush in Manchester, South Dakota. He was a baptized child of God, and a faithful member of the United Lutheran Church in Bella Vista, AR.

In 1955 he married Carol Jean Lee of Lake Preston, SD and they raised 3 sons and also cared for 27 foster children over many years. Bill worked as an auto mechanic for years, reaching level of Master Technician, and he and Carol also operated a campground for several years in Faribault, MN. Bill was active with the Boy Scouts when his boys were young, and the family took many camping trips on weekends and during the summer. Upon retirement Bill and Carol moved to Bella Vista in 1996 where they enjoyed gardening, traveling, and card games with friends, until Carol’s passing in 2011.

In June 2015, Bill Roush and Lila Monday were married at United Lutheran Church by Pastor Fred Nelson. They were active in their church and enjoyed playing cards with friends, traveling with Making Memories Bus Tours, visiting their children and grandchildren in Minnesota and Oklahoma, and an occasional casino day trip.

Bill is survived by wife Lila, two sons Douglas and wife Lorraine of Buffalo MN, David and Charlotte Whitney of Faribault MN, daughter-in-law Sandra Roush of Bradley SD, eight grandchildren Cindy Wandersee, Terrance (Samantha) Roush, Katie Roush (Bob Eull), Devon (Andy) Larson, Jeremy (Amanda) Roush, Michael Roush, Krystal Roush, and Ashley Roush (Guy Swanson) and 15 great-grandchildren, siblings Carol Pelky, Neil (Betty) Roush and Rachael Hodges; Lila’s son Lonny (Kresenz) Monday, granddaughters Genevieve Mosman, Sasha Mosman, Loni (Michael) Paulsen, and Kassidy Monday, and 2 great-granddaughters, daughters-in-law Angela and Nancy, and siblings Jan Kolbe, Mary (Ellis) Harklau and Richard Anderson.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceeded in death by his first wife Carol, son Daniel, and siblings Bonnie Roush, Judith Sharp, and Dean Roush; and Lila’s sons Michael and Brian Monday.

Services will be held at United Lutheran Church, Bella Vista on July 11 th , 2026 with Betty Wehner the officiant. Honorary Urnbearer is Bill Parriott. Burial in Memorial Garden Cemetery in Bella Vista.
