Charles Phillip Sheppard

Charles Phillip Sheppard, 81, of Huntsville passed away March 10, 2025 at Countryside Assisted Living in Huntsville. He was born August 9, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia to Oliver Henry Sheppard and Nannie Lou Adair Sheppard.

Charles had lived in the Northwest Arkansas area for over 35 years after moving from Shreveport, Louisiana. He retired from the Unites States Air Force where he served for many years as a boom operator. Charles enjoyed building garden scale model trains, and was a member of the Northwest Arkansas Garden Railway Society. He was much loved by his family and community, and will be greatly missed.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Oliver Sheppard.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Darlene Sheppard of Huntsville, whom he married March 5, 1965; two sons: Christopher Sheppard (Christine) of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Shawn Sheppard of Fayetteville; one daughter, Denise Fox (Larry) of Kansas; one sister, Barbara Nix of Hendersonville, North Carolina; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Charles’ cremated remains will be placed at Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas during a remembrance ceremony on Monday, March 17, 2025 at 2:30pm.
