October 22, 1974 until April 5, 2024

David Shane Hargrave

David Shane Hargrave, 49, of Gravette passed away April 5, 2024, at Ozarks Community Hospital in Gravette. He was born October 22, 1974 in Slaton, Texas, to Jackie David Hargrave and Marilyn McBroom.

Shane retired after 20 years as a police officer and deputy in Garfield County, Oklahoma, and most recently served as a security officer at Ozarks Community Hospital. He loved mini trucks and was an active member of the car community in the Gravette area, participating in car shows to benefit Bright Futures and the Gravette Historical Museum at Gravette Day. He loved going fishing with his wife and kids and taking them to the shooting range to bond while teaching them how to shoot a gun. He loved to talk about cars, especially the exotic ones, with his boys. He was a train enthusiast. His kids grew up with a G scale train set up somewhere in the house. He and his wife spent most of their honeymoon going on train rides around Colorado. Shane had a way of making everyone feel like they were important. He always had an open ear and would sit and visit with anyone who wanted to talk. Everyone loved to hear his dad jokes and you never walked away without a good laugh.

Shane was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William McBroom and Elsie McBroom, paternal grandparents, Jackie Earl Hargrave and Erma Joe Hargrave, and his uncle, Rickie Hargrave.

Survivors include his parents, Jackie Hargrave of Wyoming and Marilyn Love (Manny) of Harrah, OK; his wife, Jennifer Hargrave of Gravette; three sons: David Aaron Hargrave of Rogers, Brandon Shane Hargrave of Rogers, and Dale Wallis of Vaughn; four daughters: Jennifer Hargrave of Rogers, Madison Hargrave of Rogers, Tori Wallis of Gravette, and Katelyn Hargrave of Rogers; and one sister, Wendi Foust (Josh) of Guthrie, Oklahoma.

A memorial service in Shane’s honor will be Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1:00pm at Heritage Baptist Church in Gravette.

Donations in memory of Shane can be given to Bright Futures of Gravette.
