Donald William Martens

Donald William Martens, age 92, of Bentonville died Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at a local skilled care center. He was born February 3, 1932 in Peru, Illinois the son of Lydia Wisenberger and Vernon Martens.

He served in the US Air Force. He enjoyed camping all over the United States. He and his family hosted several international students over the years. He loved the outdoors, working around his yard, and working in his garden.

He moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1976 from the Chicago Area. He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers; Dr. Richard Martens of New Hampshire and Dr. Leslie Martens of Minnesota.

Donald is survived by: his wife of 70 years; Marilyn Martens, four sons; David Martens and his wife Lisa, of Bentonville, Richard Martens, of Bentonville, Thomas Martens, of Bella Vista, Robert Martens and his wife Dolores, of Bakersfield, California, numerous nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be Saturday at 11am at Bentonville Cemetery.
