Edith Mae Teal

Edith Mae Teal, age 93, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Innisfree Health and Rehab in Rogers, Arkansas, after battling dementia. Edith was born on November 12, 1931, in Jamesville, Missouri, to Marion and Maud (Bader) Gardner. She graduated from Nixa High School. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Wilber Teal Sr., with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Together, they owned and operated an auto body shop for over 55 years in Springfield, Missouri.

Edith was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Springfield, Missouri, and a current member of Canvas Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was very active in church, mainly taking care of the nursery at Broadway and serving as everyone’s beloved ‘Granny.’ She enjoyed sewing, tending to flowers, and spending time with her grandson, Jason, and great-grandchildren, Maddox and Hayes.

Edith was one of fourteen children and is survived by her sisters, Leona Chilcutt of Republic, Missouri and Aileen Tichenor of Springfield, Missouri; her daughter, Pamela (Craig) Skinner, and grandson, Jason (Cynthia) Skinner, both from Bentonville, Arkansas, her son Wilbur Teal Jr of Springfield, Missouri; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held for her at 5:30 pm on Thursday, January 16th, at Hope Church, 1700 Moberly Lane, Bentonville, AR 72712. Edith will be laid to rest at Jamesville Cemetery in Jamesville, Missouri, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jamesville Cemetery or Hope Church.
