Eric Lee Lawrence

Eric Lee Lawrence, 62, of Centerton passed away July 20, 2024. He was born December 27, 1962 in Wayland, New York to Harold B. Lawrence and Olga Peter Kisselowa Lawrence; both of whom preceded him in death.

Above all things, Eric was a great dad who was proud of his children Mackenna and Hunter and loved them dearly. He reveled in their accomplishments and was always willing to share those with his friends. At the same time, Eric was a very private person who was reluctant to share a lot of his life with others. But, Eric was also a tremendous man who would do anything for anyone.

Eric was a valued member of the Shurtape team here in Bentonville for nearly 18 years in his official role as a Category Advisor to buyers; and unofficially as a mentor to many on the team. He was presented with Shurtape’s Spirit Award, which recognizes team members who make extraordinary contributions. While his innate humility would make you think otherwise, he was honored by this well-deserved recognition.

Eric was also a good friend. He listened more than he spoke and was great at offering well-thought out solutions to problems. When he did offer advice, he often did so using his uniquely wry sense of humor. He was a true giving individual and always put other people’s needs before his own. Because of all that he was, Eric will be greatly missed.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, listening to Tidal music, and sports – particularly the Arizona Cardinals and the Baltimore Orioles. His best friend, Jim McIntyre, noted, “Eric always knew a ton more than me on the direction of the NFL draft.”

Eric is survived by one daughter, Mackenna Lawrence of Centerton; one son, Hunter Lawrence of Centerton; Melanie Lawrence of Centerton; Luna, Eric’s beloved family dog; his best friend and co-worker, Jim McIntyre; his co-worker, Lauren Bridgeforth.

The family and friends will remember and celebrate Eric privately as was his request.
