Glenn Rex Coonfield

Glenn Rex Coonfield, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, November 12th, 2024 at his home in Bentonville, Arkansas. He was born on October 28th, 1949 in Bentonville to Glenn Clifford and Virginia Coonfield (Mosher).

Glenn had an amazing life and is a no-nonsense, loving father. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, traveling around the world in service to his country for 20 years, eventually retiring from the military. He visited many places, including Okinawa, Seoul, the Philippines, Germany, Greece, Thailand, Singapore, as well as many states in the U.S., such as California, Nevada, Arizona, and Texas. Along the way he met his wife, Sompis Ritmontree, whom he married on December 23rd, 1977, holding a ceremony at 2:00a.m. in Las Vegas, Nevada. They eventually settled together in his hometown of Bentonville in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Glenn Clifford and Virginia.

Glenn is survived by his wife of almost 47 years, Sam Coonfield; one daughter, Mary Coonfield Nicholas (Joey) of Mississippi; one sister, Linda Hunt of Arizona, and many friends who served with his in the 6005th Air Postal Squadron.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and honored by a grateful nation of which he served so many years.
