Heath Thompson Owens
February 15, 1995 until July 6, 2024
Heath Thompson Owens, 29, of Bella Vista died Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born on February 15, 1995 in Houston, Texas the son of Paul and Nancy Owens.
Heath was born with the soul of a farmer and loved cultivating the earth as much as friendships. In his youth he had a love for basketball and learned to fight hard for a position on the court as he did in life. This is where his passion for KU basketball blossomed and was cemented later as a pillar of his personality with the 2008 National Championship win against Memphis. He was a seeker of adventure and loved the outdoors, including hiking, camping, and landscaping. In 2016 he moved to Northwest Arkansans where he met his wife Taylor and became a maker of humans in 2017. Upon the birth of his first child, Heath discovered his most proud passion and hobby, fatherhood. Heath’s favorite pastimes were spending time with his wife and children.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd and Helen Owens; and his maternal grandfather, Skip Sharp.
Heath is survived by his wife of six years, Taylor Owens of Bella Vista; son Morrison Floyd 6 and daughter Maggie Jean 2 ½. His parents, Paul and Nancy Owens of Bella Vista. Sister Alex Mixon, brother-in-law Pierce Mixon and niece Penelope Lou 1 month, of Dallas, Texas. Brother from another mother, Todd Christenson of everywhere; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Heath will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks.
