James Mark Smith

Mark Smith, age 64, of Rogers, died Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center located in Rogers. He was born March 3, 1959 in Mountain View, Arkansas the son of L. C. Smith and Euda Corter Smith.

Spending quality time with his family and grandchildren was the most important part of his life, including attending their sporting events, and their school and church activities. He loved deer hunting and tinkering on many building projects. He was an active member of Grace Baptist Church of Rogers for many years.

He was a retired home builder with Hart Construction for many years, after leaving Hart Construction, he opened his own business, Dogwood Construction of Rogers. He formally retired in 2005 from the construction industry. He was preceded in death by: LC Smith Father, Euda Smith Mother, both from Mountain View Arkansas, and his Brother in Law Ricky Goldsmith from Rogers Arkansas.

Mark is survived by: his wife; Teresa Smith of Rogers Arkansas, his children
Mackenzie Smith, of Rogers, Samantha McLelland and husband Rob McLelland of Rogers,
Amanda Smith, from Lowell, and Stephen Smith and his partner Chadwick Turner of Bella Vista Arkansas, his four grandchildren; Eli and Paisley McLelland of Rogers Arkansas, Tanner and Lane Brace, of Rogers, his sister Shirley Smith of Bentonville, his brother; Ronnie Smith and wife Debbie Smith of Bradford Arkansas, his father and mother in law Jerry & Dottie Goldsmith of Rogers Arkansas, his brother in Law Michael Goldsmith and wife Kim Goldsmith, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Monday from 5-7pm at Grace Baptist Church located in Rogers.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be Tuesday at 10am at Grace Baptist Church with Pastor Rob McLelland and Pastor Michael Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow at Goad Springs Cemetery located in Lowell.

Pallbearers will be: Eli McLelland, Chris Carter, Barry Pile, Bill Sims, Aaron Pile, Brad Sims, and Caley Vo.
