Janine Monique Kelley
July 7th, 1947 until August 5th, 2023
Janine Monique Kelley, 76, longtime resident of McDonald County died peacefully in her sleep
on Saturday, August 5th, 2023. She is predeceased by her parents, James and Marie Gann of
Noel, Missouri, and her younger brother James Gann, Jr. of Cherryvale, KS.
Janine was born in Coffeyville, KS on July 7th, 1947. She graduated with her teaching and art
degree from Pittsburg State University (PSU) in Pittsburg, KS. She married Floyd Ray Kelley in
1970. She taught High School Art in Kansas before going back for her Master’s Degree at PSU
and moving to Noel, Missouri in 1985 after her divorce and with her two children and parents, to begin teaching Home Economics. She taught at McDonald County schools for 25 years before
retiring. She loved her students and taught them sewing, cooking, design, and much more,
touching the lives of hundreds of students through the years.
Janine was a member of Pineville Christian Church. She loved to sing, scrapbook, and spend
time with her grandchildren and crafting with her granddaughters Izzy and Livvy.
Loving survivors include her children, daughter Karinn Kelley of Reno, Nevada; son and
daughter-in-law James and Hope Kelley of Pineville, Missouri. She loved her grandchildren:
Jerin, Liom, and Ellarie Bateman of Reno, NV, and Isabelle (Izzy) and Olivia (Livvy) Kelley of
Pineville, Missouri. She is also lovingly missed by her younger brother and sister-in-law, Bill and
Wendy Gann of Joplin, Missouri , as well as Evie, her poodle companion being taken care of by
Bill and Wendy.
At her wish, Janine was cremated. Epting Funeral Home in Bentonville, Arkansas completed
the cremation. A Celebration of Life will take place at her home church of Pineville Christian
Church on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, at 10am. The family wishes to thank those who
have extended their wishes of condolences and happy memories of Janine, forever known as
Naneen to her grandchildren and Ms. Kelley to so many of her students.
