John Allen Obliskey

John Allen Obliskey, 76, of Bentonville passed away January 30, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Rogers. He was born April 8, 1947 in Washington, D.C.

John grew up in Paramus, New Jersey. He served in the United States Navy and worked for many years as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. John and his wife, Dawn, have been in Northwest Arkansas for eight years since moving from Chesapeake, Virginia. He was an avid recumbent cyclist and a member of the recumbent cycling community in Northwest Arkansas.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Catherine Obliskey.

John is survived by his wife Dawn, whom he married on May 21, 2005. He is also survived by his son, Michael Obliskey, of New York; two granddaughters: Natasha and Isabella Obliskey; step-son, Joe Mejstrik, his wife, Amy, and their children, Eleanor and Virginia; and step-daughter, Clara Mejstrik and her husband, Brian Butler.

John is being cremated, and his remains will be laid to rest at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
