Kathleen "Kathy" Jeanne Dewell

Kathleen "Kathy" Jeanne Dewell, 71, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026, surrounded by her daughters at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Born on January 29, 1955 in Roseburg, Oregon, Kathy’s journey took her to Pierre, South Dakota, where she grew up. As a spirited young woman, she shared a lively childhood with her four brothers and discovered a lifelong passion for the water as a dedicated member of the Pierre high school swim team.

Kathy accomplished a remarkable 50-year career in retail. She approached every day with an unshakeable work ethic, taking immense pride in her profession and greeting every challenge with grace and a smile.

In her later years, Kathy found pure contentment in life’s gentlest rhythms at her home in Bella Vista, Arkansas. She could often be found reading her Bible, nurturing her beautiful rose bush, swimming laps at the community center, or enjoying the sun at Avalon Beach. Her days were made bright by the companionship of her deer head Chihuahua, Tiny, and the quiet comfort of classic Westerns and lively game shows.

Above all else, Kathy’s heart belonged to her family. They were her proudest achievement, her greatest joy, and her deepest love. Her spirit, strength, and boundless warmth will forever be carried forward by her five devoted children: Roxanne Blake, Elizabeth Dixon, Amy Artman, Hillary Kirby, and Sarek Kirby. Her five cherished grandchildren were the absolute light of her life, bringing endless laughter and happiness to her later years.
Kathy is survived by and lovingly remembered by her two brothers, Ken Dewell and David Dewell. She now rests in the eternal embrace of those who went before her, including her beloved mother, Margurite, and her dear brothers, Bill Dewell and Mike Dewell.

Kathy’s legacy of love, dedication, and gentle strength will live on forever in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know her. To honor a life so beautifully lived, her family will hold a private celebration of life.
