Kathryne Irene Eden

Kathryne Irene Eden, age 81, of Bentonville died November 12, 2024 at Circle of Life Hospice House located in Bentonville. She was born November 20, 1942 in Edmond, Oklahoma the daughter of Mildred Thompson and Dewey Jones Sr.

She was a teacher in the Bentonville School District for many years and had a passion for learning. Her love of the arts was reflected in her self-taught watercolor paintings to craft activities for the grandchildren. She was the universal Nana. She really enjoyed planning and hosting parties and events for the family, and the finest of details were included.

She loved being a mom, and as a single woman at the age of 54, she fostered and then adopted two boys. She was blessed to have the opportunity to adopt them from Seneca-Cayuga Nation.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her step-father, Charles Douglass; and her brother, D. L. Jones.
Kathryne is survived by: her daughter; Karra Sparks, of Bentonville; sons: Chris Thompson of Jane, Missouri, Woodrow Eden of Bentonville, and Kevin Eden of Rogers; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Kathryne was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her family will miss her meticulous details and her determined spirit. She was an exceptional lady who will be missed by family and friends. Her legacy will long live through her family.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 11:30am-12:30pm at Epting Funeral Home located in Bentonville.

A celebration of Kathryne’s life will be Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 2:00pm at Circle of Life Hospice Chapel located in Bentonville.

Graveside service will be Monday, November 18, 2024 at 1:00pm at Grace Lawn Cemetery located in Edmond, Oklahoma.
