Lucy W. Gillespie

Lucy W. Gillespie, age 90, passed away peacefully on October 9th in Rogers, Arkansas.
She was born October 20th, 1934 in Hereford, TX, the first child of Chris and Martha Wegner.

Ms. Gillespie also lived in Quitman, Pine Bluff, Heber Springs and New York City during her life.
In 1952 she graduated as valedictorian of her class at Quitman High School. Ms. Gillespie made a career as a program manager for the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Notably, as a single parent in the home, she raised four boys, close together in age.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Gillespie and 3 brothers, Chris Wegner of Rison, Fred Wegner of Kingsland and Robert Wegner of White Hall.

Ms. Gillespie is survived by four sons: Patrick (and Sue) Bourke of Norfork VA, Steven (and Virginia) Bourke of Bella Vista AR, Terrence (and Kim) Bourke of Tulsa OK, and Scott Bourke (and Teri Appelquist) of Lavon, Tx. She is also survived by a beautiful family of 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
