Nancy Lee Gordon

Nancy Lee Gordon passed from this life on September 20, 2023 at the age of 87 in Rogers, Arkansas. Born to Homer and Vesta Stiles in Klamath Falls, Oregon on October 26, 1935, Nancy enjoyed a long, eventful, positive life.

Nancy and her late husband, Bill, raised four children: Lynn, Mike, Kellie and Tony. Nancy enjoyed moving their family to locales where Bill’s work took them including the Oregon coast, Lake Havasu City, AZ and Phoenix. She and Bill also lived in Los Angeles and Maui while Bill worked on hotel construction projects. A highlight of their travel was a “bucket list” trip to Malmo, Sweden where Nancy’s Swedish ancestors originated. In their retirement years, Nancy and Bill resided in Prescott, AZ.

In 1971, Bill became a small aircraft pilot. A flight in their Cessna plane from Phoenix to Bullhead City, AZ was a regular occurrence to visit Nancy’s mother. Over several years, Bill and Nancy flew in their plane to numerous locations including Mena, Arkansas and Yellowstone National Park. Flying in the little Cessna was a highlight of Nancy’s life.

After her children were raised, Nancy enjoyed a varied career in volunteer work. Her favorite volunteer position was with the Phoenix Crisis Nursery taking care of newborn babies. A volunteer position with the Phoenix Salvation Army lasted 20 years. In her later years, FaceBook kept Nancy in touch with family and friends across the US and UK, and Pogo online games provided hours of entertainment. In the past 20 years, two dogs (Jocie and Bitsy) provided companionship and were a big part of Nancy’s world. The last 10 years Nancy resided in NW Arkansas. Her interest in several genres of music included the opportunities to enjoy Broadway shows at Walton Arts Center and opera at Opera of the Ozarks.

Survivors include her four children, Lynn Leslie (Mike) Jacobs of Bella Vista, AR, William Michael (Jennifer) Gordon of Toano, VA, Kellie Kristine (Steve LaCroix) Gordon of Byhalia, MS and Anthony Locke (Nancy) Gordon of Poland, OH. Also surviving are four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. No services will be held.

The family would like to thank Innisfree Health & Rehabilitation and Circle of Life Hospice for the awesome and extraordinary care provided their mother in her final month. Donations may be made to the Hospice organization or an Animal Shelter in memory of Nancy Lee Gordon.
