Ruby Mae Kelley

Ruby Mae Kelley, 85, of Bentonville, passed away due to an illness on December 25, 2024 in her home. She was born September 12, 1939 in Memphis, Tennessee to Robert Edgar Young and Olivia Irene Ivy Young.

Ruby lived most of her life in Indianapolis, Indiana, and only moved to Bentonville in March to be near family. Ruby graduated Cum Laude from LeMoyne-Owen College and received her 30 Plus degree from Trevecca NazareneCollege, and was a life-long learner. She spent most of her working life as a middle school educator in both the Memphis and Indianapolis school districts. Ruby accepted Christ at a young age and enjoyed traveling and any church related activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Kelley Sr; one son, Frank Kelley II; one daughter, baby girl Kelley; five brothers: George Young, Willie Young, Elijah Young Sr, G. W. Young; and Walter Young and his wife Lois; five sisters: Mildred Daniels, Queenella Young, Vivian Young, Rosie Lee Gardner, and Albert Atkins and her husband Willie; two brothers-in-law: Roger Blalock and Joe Robinson; sister-in-law, Alfreda Young; and her dearest friend, Debra Elaine Bell.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory five sons: Michael Malone (Debbie), Kevin Malone (Monica), Ferrell Kelley, Fedric Kelley (Tina), and Jerre Wright (Debra); three daughters: Fantine Kelley (Calvin), Felicia Kelley, and Millicent Brown; one brother, Thurman Young Sr (Rose); two sisters: Joyce Blalock and Ola Robinson; sister-in-law, Shirl Young; nineteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will plan a memorial service at a later date.
