Virgil Duane Mcvay

Virgil Duane Mcvay, age 95, of Rogers died Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at his residence. He was born October 7, 1928 in Macksburg, Iowa the son of Velma Klos and Forest Mcvay.He moved from Iowa to California in 1958, where he started his family and worked as a cement truck driver for over 30 years and created so many cherished memories there.

Duane and his family moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1994, where he began working for Rogers Public Schools as a bus driver, and worked there for 24 years and was loved by many in the district. He enjoyed watching Nascar and all things football with family and friends. The most important thing to him was spending quality time with family above all, especially his grandchildren.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents Forest and Velma Mcvay, his brothers Keith, Calvin, John, Larry, Michael, and Daniel; his sisters Nancy, Patricia and Katherine.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Rose Mcvay, whom he married September 10, 1986, three sons; Duane Mcvay Jr, and his wife Terri of California, Jonathan Mcvay and his wife Telissa, of Rogers, Jon D Mcvay of Rogers, six daughters; Connie Hood and husband Jeff of St. George, Utah, Becky Scanlon and her husband Pat of Brea, California, Michelle Mcvay and her husband John of California, Laura Fernandez of Lowell, Lindy Mcvay of Rogers, and Lori Jones of Springdale. One brother; Abe Mcvay and his wife Barbara of Winterset, Iowa; two sisters Judy Tull of Afton, Iowa and Beth Mcgrath of Iowa. He was also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
