William Ray Davis

William Ray Davis, age 87, of Bella Vista died Sunday, July 28, 2024, at his home. He was born October 12, 1936, to John and Grace Davis in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.

He served in the US Navy for almost five years as a radar tech for recon missions. At Seismograph Service Corporation, a subsidiary of Raytheon, he worked on seismic crews and repaired computers. After retiring to Bella Vista in 1999, he played golf regularly and fished on Lake Brittany.

He was an active volunteer in the community, including the following: Friends of Dogwood, six years, course beautification; Cancer Challenge, 15 years; LPGA, 10 years; Crime Watch, five years. He also participated in Fly Tyers, recycling, sinking Christmas trees for fish habitat, and oiling the eggs of Canada geese. For three years he was on the POA Lakes Advisory Committee.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Kraft) Davis, and was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Janice Atkinson, John Davis Jr., and Geneva Baxter; and nephew John Davis III. Family survivors include nieces and nephews Diane Dunn, Debra Driggers, Denise Jordan, Sherry Bearden, Janis Pray, Robert Baxter, and Dan Atkinson.

Memorials may be made to Bella Vista Animal Shelter or Circle of Life Hospice.
